Employment Lawyer for Employees

Have you been dismissed, summarily dismissed, or offered a severance package? I assess whether your employer has followed the rules and help you with negotiations, settlement or court proceedings.

Many Polish and Eastern European workers in Norway are not aware of their rights under the Working Environment Act – and employers know it. I explain what you are entitled to, in a language you understand.

A good severance package or settlement can often be reached without going to court. Where that is necessary, I will represent you.

Typical cases

Dismissal and Summary Dismissal

Assessment of whether the dismissal is justified and whether the correct procedure was followed.

Severance Package and Settlement

Negotiation of a termination agreement – in and out of court.

Unpaid Wages

Claims against the employer, and the wage guarantee scheme through NAV (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) if the employer becomes insolvent.

Posted Workers

Employees posted from Poland to Norway, and staffing agencies.

Frequently asked questions

What should I do if I am dismissed?

Ask for a written statement of reasons, do not sign anything you do not understand, and get in touch quickly. There are short deadlines for requesting negotiations and bringing a claim.

What is a severance package?

An agreement under which you leave voluntarily in exchange for, for example, continued pay for a period. The terms can be negotiated, and it is worth having the agreement reviewed before you sign.

My employer has gone bankrupt. Will I receive my wages?

In many cases you can recover outstanding wages through NAV's wage guarantee scheme. This requires that the claim is submitted correctly and on time.
